Information
Name: Sahuarita Lake Triathlon & 5k Run
Distances: 1k lake swim, 25k bike, 5k run
Date: Memorial Day, Monday May 31, 2004, 6:30am
Location: Sahuarita, AZ (about 30 minutes south of Tucson)
The start time for the 5k run is 6:30am and it is the same course as the triathlon. The 5k run course map is available for viewing- see the Run Course information in the Course Details section below.
USA Triathlon rules apply. Other rules and updated course info will be in your
packet.
This is a USA Triathlon sanctioned event. All competitors must be either an annual
member or purchase a one day membership ($9, included in entry fee)
Helmets must meet CPSC/Snell/ANSI safety standards. For more information
click here. No floatation devices allowed.
USAT wetsuit rules will be followed. The water temperature will be taken on Sunday morning at the approximate start time of the race and posted at packet pick-up. The final ruling on wetsuit use, however, will not be made until race morning after the water temperature has again been measured. The final ruling on wetsuit use will be announced race morning prior to the start. Wetsuits were permitted in last year's race
Swim
Wetsuits will be permitted if the water temperature on race day is 78° F or
less.
The open water swim will be an out and back course, 1k in total length.

Bike
The bike course is an out and back course, 25k in total length.
There will not be a water bottle exchange on the bike course. Please start the
race with a full bottle.

Run
The run course winds through the beautiful streets of Rancho Sahuarita, 5k in
total length.

Transitions
There is a single transition area, in a large newly paved parking lot
immediately adjacent to the lake, and the fitness center.
Relays are available in the following categories:

Corporate
Family relay members must be related, corporate relay members must be employed by same company.
All relay members must sign waiver at packet pickup. Relay members who are unable to attend packet pickup may send along a signed waiver with a team member. Race packets will not be released until signed waivers have been received from all three team members! Click here to download a waiver
Packet pickup will be at R&R Cycles, 2830 N. Campbell Ave (in the Campbell Plaza, NE corner of Campbell and Glenn), Sun. May 30, 11am to 4pm. You can also pickup your packet on race day at the race site BEFORE 6:00am.
Pre Race meeting is at R&R Bicycle, 2830 N. Campbell Ave (in the Campbell Plaza, NE corner of Campbell and Glenn), Sun. May 30 at 3:00pm
T-shirts will be awarded at the finish line. Awards will be presented 3 deep in each age category.

Triathlon:
Subtract $9 if USAT member. For relays, subtract $9 for each USAT member on the relay team. You MUST present your card(s) at packet pickup.
Race transfers are NOT
permitted per USAT rules

5K Entry fee is $20.
Race day 5k registration is $25.

Directions to the Sahuarita Lake Triathlon race site from Tucson:
* Take I-10 to I-19 * South on I-19 to exit #75 * At the end of the exit ramp turn left (east) on Sahuarita Road (also known as Helmet Peak Road). * After passing Sahuarita High School turn left (north) on La Villita Road. * Follow La Villita for 8 tenths of a mile to the race site. * Allow at least 30 minutes from Tucson.
Note: The east end of the fitness center parking lot is reserved for the transition area on race day. Parking will be available in the west end of the lot if you do not plan to move your car until the race is completely over.
