Name: Sahuarita Lake Triathlon
Distances: 1k lake swim, 25k bike, 5k run
Date: Memorial Day,  Monday May 31, 2010, 6:30am
Location: Sahuarita, AZ (about 30 minutes south of Tucson)
Note: Age must be at least 13 as of 12/31/2010 to participate in this event.

USA Triathlon rules apply.  Other rules and updated course info will be in your packet.
This is a USA Triathlon sanctioned event.  All competitors must be either an annual member or purchase a one day membership ($10, included in entry fee)
Helmets must meet CPSC/Snell/ANSI safety standards. For more information click here.  No floatation devices allowed.

USAT wetsuit rules will be followed. The water temperature will be taken on Sunday morning at the approximate start time of the race and posted at packet pick-up. The final ruling on wetsuit use, however, will not be made until race morning after the water temperature has again been measured. The final ruling on wetsuit use will be announced race morning prior to the start. Wetsuits have been permitted every year the race has been held.

Course Details

Swim
Wetsuits will be permitted if the water temperature on race day is 78° F or less.
The open water swim will be an out and back course, 1k in total length.

Bike
THE BIKE COURSE HAS BEEN CHANGED- Please review the new 2 loop bike course below.

There will not be a water bottle exchange on the bike course. Please start the race with a full bottle.

Run
The run course winds through the beautiful streets of Rancho Sahuarita, 5k in total length.

Transitions
There is a single transition area, in a large newly paved parking lot immediately adjacent to the lake, and the fitness center.

Relays

Relays are available in the following categories:

Family
Corporate

Family relay members must be related, corporate relay members must be employed by same company.

All relay members must sign waiver at packet pickup. Relay members who are unable to attend packet pickup may send along a signed waiver with a team member. Race packets will not be released until signed waivers have been received from all three team members!

Packet Pickup

Packet Pickup will be held on Sunday May 30 from 11:00pm to 5:00pm at TriSports.com. TriSports is located at 4495 S. Coach Drive, Tucson, AZ 85714. You can also pick up your packet on race morning before 6:00am at the lake.
All athletes (including relay team members) must show a photo ID when picking up their packet. Under no circumstances may an athlete pick up a packet for another person. NO ID, No RACE, No EXCEPTIONS. All USAT members must show their membership card at packet pickup.

Prerace Meeting

Pre Race meeting is at TriSports.com, 4495 S. Coach Drive, Tucson, AZ 85714), Sun. May 30 at 12:00 noon. If you have any questions about the race this is the time to get answers. If you have never participated in the Sahuarita Lake Triathlon then this meeting is highly recommended.

Awards / T-shirts

T-shirts will be awarded at the finish line.   Awards will be presented 3 deep in each age category.

Entries received after 12:00 noon on Monday May 18th will not be guaranteed a t-shirt.

Entry Fees

Triathlon:

Entries received after 12:00 noon on Monday May 18th will not be guaranteed a t-shirt.

Age must be at least 13 as of December 31, 2010 to participate in this event.

Only those who have registered for this event and have signed the race waiver will be permitted to participate per USAT rules.

Individual Adult (18 & Older) Entry Fees
USAT members $55 ($65 after May 11)
Non members $65 ($75 after May 11)

Individual Youth (17 & U) Entry Fees
USAT members $55* ($65* after May 11th)

Relay Team Fees
$135 if no team members have a current USAT membership ($150 after May 11)
$125 if 1 of 3 team members have a current USAT membership ($140 after May 11)
$115 if 2 of 3 team members have a current USAT membership ($130 after May 11)
$105 if 3 team members have a current USAT membership ($120 after May 11)
Note: All team members who are 17 years of age or under MUST purchase an annual USAT membership for $5 prior to race day. Please visit http://www.usatriathlon.org to join.
 

All USAT members must show their membership card at packet pickup.

50% refunds up until and including May 11, 2010

Directions to the Sahuarita Lake Triathlon race site from Tucson:

* From I-10 take I-19 south for approximately 16 miles to exit #75.
* Turn left on Sahuarita Road and drive east to Rancho Sahuarita Blvd. (new main entrance).
* Turn left on Rancho Sahuarita Blvd. and continue until you see the Fitness Center clubhouse.
* Turn left at the stop sign (Cmo. Lago Azul) and then right using the west entrance of the Swim and Fitness Center parking lot.
* Allow 30 minutes from Tucson.

Note: The east end of the fitness center parking lot is reserved for the transition area on race day. Parking will be available in the west end of the lot if you do not plan to move your car until the race is completely over.
